How to Increase Productivity – Can you hold a thought for 17 seconds?

I have a powerful strategy to share with you today that will empower you to do focused, efficient things in your everyday life and show you how to increase productivity!  It comes from my friend and mentor, Connie Ragen Green, and she practices it to be incredibly productive on a consistent basis in her amazingly successful business and in her life!  One thing about Connie is that, unlike many successful people, she doesn’t hold back secrets about her success.  She opens the doors wide to show you what she does to be on online powerhouse in her field.  That’s exactly what she does in this post.

You’ll also see that she shares a post from another expert on success giving further validity to the technique she shares.  In her post titled 17 Seconds of Productivity Connie says:

“You may have heard about something I refer to as “The 17 Second Rule” and known worldwide in relation to success, visualization, and productivity. For our purposes here, I will share what I do personally so that I can be more productive in my life and business. It all begins with 17 seconds of productivity, where you simply focus your attention on the goal you wish to achieve for seventeen full seconds. The science behind this practice says that you attract a similar thought to your original one when you hold it for that period of time, and that this has an exponential benefit of being ten times as powerful and effective as your original thought.”

Have you ever tried to focus on one thought for a full 17 seconds?  I challenge you to try it.  I’ve tried it, and it’s a real challenge…which makes me think I need to work on it and make it happen.  My mind bounces around from my original thought to what’s for dinner, to what should I be doing that I forgot to do and so on…

This applies to your health in a big way!  Full focus on small tasks and goals relative to your health will help you get there quickly and more easily.  For me, focusing on exercise to be in better shape would be a good one to spend 17 seconds envisioning.  Where would your focus be?

Read about it here.  Find out how to increase productivity, and then try it!  We’re all a work in progress, aren’t we?
