Did you ever want to write a book?
Many years ago, I wanted to write a book…specifically a mystery book. Mysteries were always a favorite read for me, and I had a great ending in mind. The trouble was, I couldn’t come up with a beginning or a middle, so I abandoned the project rather quickly.
In recent years, the thought returned to me as I have been looking for ways to share my accidental recovery from chronic depression with others. I started to write a book several years ago, honestly without knowing what I was doing. I just started it as an online challenge to write five thousand words in a day. I completed the challenge, and my book adventure began.
The beginning of the book came to me when I was driving on Trapelo Road in Waltham, Massachusetts. It was fall, and as I drove by the Waltham Reservoir, I noticed how beautiful the colors of the fall leaves were on the tress and reflected in the still water. The fact that I noticed this was new and amazing to me as I explain in the book.
What I didn’t know at the time is that to write a book, you really need to begin with an outline. That makes it much more organized and deliberate. I ended up with a bit of a mess, and the process took longer than it should have as I had a lot of backtracking and organizing to do that would have been automatic with an outline.
I was determined to write a book and to share with others my journey to a depression free life by changing how I eat. Today I can tell you the book is finished!
The cover has been designed, and the book has gone for formatting for both paperback and Kindle versions. I am beyond excited to share the story of how I changed what I eat to help someone else, and by doing so, I accidentally transformed my own life.
I have only ever wanted to help people live and feel better regardless of whether I was helping them find a home in my real estate career or helping them understand how to eat to affect depression and lose weight as a Certified Nutrition & Wellness Consultant.
I know this will make a big difference for people who read it, and I couldn’t be more pleased.
