Chia Seeds are a superfood – hint…think weight loss!

Chia Seeds are a superfoodChia Seeds are a superfood- They’re not just for chia pets anymore…

I used to think chia seeds were just for growing on clay forms of animals to give as funny gifts.  Now I know differently! Chia seeds are a superfood, so I use chia seeds frequently in baking, smoothies and desserts. Do you know they are incredibly healthy they are?  Among other benefits, they help reduce high blood pressure!

I found this great article that I absolutely have to share with you right now!  I found it on BeWellBuzz.com…gotta love their stuff; so informative.  In this post they share:

“This is a super food for diabetics because they help stabilize blood sugar levels. Not only that, studies also show that eating chia seed slows down how fast our bodies convert carbohydrate calories into simple sugars. This leads scientists to believe that the chia seed may have great benefits for diabetics.”

The fact that they may help the ever growing numbers of diabetics in our country is huge!  In addition, chia seeds help with weight loss:

“The chia seed gels when becoming wet and this gel, when in our digestive systems, helps prevent some of the food, hence calories that we eat from getting absorbed into our system. This blockage of calorie absorption makes the chia seed a great diet helper. Eating the seeds also helps dieters by making them feel fuller faster so they will be less hungry!”

Because we all can use help stabilizing our blood sugar levels, and because there are so many other benefits, I encourage you to read their article on the benefits of chia seeds, and then pick up a bag of them. I use them in baking my socca, and in chia pudding…delicious!

      Hi Bon!

I just posted the recipe in the recipe section. No photo yet, but it’s so easy to make. There’s a chocolate version you can do as well.
Let me know if you don’t have xylitol, and I’ll send you a link.

Let me know how you like it!

      xoxo
