Change Your Diet…Change Your Life!

Change Your Diet…Change Your Life!

I think long and hard about how to best share the message I have to share; how to give people the benefit of my knowledge and experience learned from changing my diet that they may benefit too.

Between my husband Rob and me, we have normalized blood sugar levels, improved cholesterol readings, and I have cured my decades-long struggle with depression.

All this happened because we changed how we eat.

I am constantly amazed at how hard it is to share our success with others.  Not that it’s difficult to express, but it’s hard to feel we are being heard or accepted.

Mostly the feedback is, “I could never give up pasta”; “I could never give up sugar”; I could never give up cheese”, and so on.

Rob and I differ on our point of view on this.  Rob is very strong willed, and when he decides to stop eating something that many people would find difficult to give up, he is done.  He just doesn’t eat it anymore.  For example, he decided to stop drinking caffeine; he stopped.

Taking this a step further, Rob feels people need to stop eating what doesn’t make or keep them healthy and that’s that.  I, on the other hand am more inclined to be a little softer in my advice in the hope that more people will find my message palatable, and one they would put into practice…at least give it a try.

I temper my message by assuring people they don’t have to never eat something again that they mince pie_Ayca Wilsoncurrently really love.  For instance, they don’t have to sign up to never eat a piece of cake or pie again.  I had a great sampling of holiday desserts in December.  I enjoyed them, but truthfully, because I just don’t eat sugar anymore, they didn’t taste as awesome as I remembered.  That being said, I wanted to indulge in my old fashioned desserts, and I did.

For me, the truth is that I feel so much better eating the way I do now, that I am very careful not to slip back into eating the way I did before.  I wouldn’t trade my non-depressed life for all the pizza, sandwiches, cake and cheese in the world.

I really want the people I am in touch with to understand that once you get used to eating and tasting real, whole food, the processed stuff just doesn’t taste as good anymore.

When you change how you eat, you will have increased mental clarity and energy.  You will sleep burger fries and shake_m01229better.  You will not be as hungry all the time as I know you are now.  That, by the way, is not your fault; it is being done to you…the processed and fast foods so many people eat on a regular basis are designed to be addictive.  They target the pleasure centers in your brain. You eat, you crave, you eat again; more profit for the few at the expense of the health of the many who are becoming overweight and diabetic in every increasing numbers.

But…more about that later.  For the time being, please be aware that it is your best interest and in the best interest of your family that you eat whole fresh food and lose the fast food and process food.

Trust me; it can change your life!
