Wild Rice

Ingredients
- 1 tsp minced garlic or 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp dried onion flakes
- ¼ tsp white or black pepper
- 1 tsp anchovy paste
- 1 cup wild rice
- ¼ cup sprouted lentils
- ½ cup quinoa
- 1 can black, pinto or kidney beans
- 1 tbsp capers (optional)
- 3 cups vegetable broth
Instructions
- In a covered pot, add 1 cup wild rice and 2 cups broth
- Add anchovy paste & capers
- Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes
- Add lentils and quinoa and another cup of broth
- Add spices and let simmer for another 15 minutes
- Add beans and cook until the rice and quinoa are tender but still a bit chewy
- Options:
- Substitute ½ cup white wine for ½ cup of the broth
- Add an additional can of beans if desired
