Magnesium and Leg cramps
Leg Cramps are So Painful!
A while ago, I began waking up in the night with really bad foot and leg cramps. I’d have to jump out of bed and walk around until they subsided. They hurt! As I eat very carefully and take supplements as well, I was baffled. They continued, and I also had some bouts of restless legs. The twitching drove me nuts. I started doing some research into what causes them, and found a really interesting article by Dr. Mark Sircus, AC., OMD, DM.
Magnesium is a critical mineral, and most of us are magnesium deficient because of our Western diet. In addition, magnesium deficiency is often misdiagnosed because it doesn’t show up in blood tests. That’s because only 1% of the body’s magnesium is stored in the blood.
Nearly every disease is affected by magnesium. Dr. Norman Shealy states that “Every known illness is associated with a magnesium deficiency”.
It’s well worth a few minutes of your time to read this important article by Dr. Mark Sircus:

For myself, I added magnesium to the supplements I take, and the leg cramps and twitching stopped. Sometimes I am not that good about taking my supplements, and I goofed off for about 5 days. No magnesium. The leg cramps at night started again.
I began taking my magnesium again. No more leg cramps.
I hope this helps you as much as it helped me!
