Hot Cocoa – How to Make it Quick and Healthy!

Hot Cocoa3 Ingredient Hot Cocoa

I don’t know about you, but I love a cup of hot cocoa, especially on a cold winter day!

The challenge has been that the easy packaged mixes are pretty scary once you read the ingredients…that is if you can pronounce some of them!  In fact, let’s take a look at the list of ingredients used in one popular brand:

Ingredients: Sugar, Corn Syrup Solids, Vegetable Oil (Partially Hydrogenated Coconut or Palm Kernel, and Hydrogenated Soybean), Dairy Product Solids (from Milk), Cocoa Processed with Alkali, Calcium Carbonate, and Less than 2% of Salt, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Caseinate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Sodium Citrate, Guargum, Skim Milk, Sodium Aluminosilicate, Mono- and Diglycerides, Artificial Flavors, Sucralose.

We can see above that they have included three different kinds of sweeteners, partially hydrogentated oils (which are so bad for you), and at least two ingredients I had to “sound out” like I was a third grade reader.  Don’t buy this stuff!  Instead, watch this:

You can also check it out on my YouTube channel to see how to make a quick, delicious cup of hot cocoa.  Best of all…there’s no added cane sugar and definitely no partially hydrogenated anything!

Check it out, and let me know what you think!
